WAM Nationals 2009_

A few of our members went to Wellies for the weekend to play in the WAM nationals.  I'll try to link in the photos when I find them but in the meantime here is the official video link.

Brass Monkey 2008_

Stop...

In June, Hawkes Bay took team HammerTime to the Brass Monkey in Rotorua. Despite a round of injuries leading up to the tournament, with the help of a ring-in we were just able to field a team. The trip to Vegas was a perfect time to prep up on the greatest highlights of MC's career (i.e. try to understand the lyrics to U Can't Touch This)! I regret to inform that we still have little idea what this song was about and definitely we are not born rappers.

On arrival in Vegas we realised we were without a gettoblaster and alternative measures had to be taken on Saturday morning. Fortunately, we did remember the costumes and stunned the other competitors with our sense of fashion. I really think the other players appreciated our use of sequins and the acres of fabric in each pair of pants... The games were awesome. We cunningly lost the first three games to place ourselves in the bottom half of the competition. We then rebounded with three wins to come top of our pool. The cross-over game was easily won and put us in high spirits.

Unfortunately the spirits ran out, as did our energy, and we were soundly beaten by the mighty HammerTron. All in all a marvellous day of ultimate, and great that the Hawkes Bay team is so strongly supported by the rest of the NZ ulty community: you guys rock. Thanks to the members of HammerTime for yet another brilliant tournament.
